Il tempio della Femmina Obesa - Temple of the Bloated Woman

Se conoscete “Call of Cthulhu”, edito dalla californiana Chaosium fin dal 1981, non potete ignorare un altro celebre nome ad esso collegato: “Masks of Nyarlathotep”, una delle più intense ed epiche campagne mai scritte per un gioco di ruolo. Il mio gruppo di amici ed io abbiamo iniziato questa serie di avventure in un’epoca ormai lontana, a seguito di altre due campagne e di molti scenari, brevi e meno brevi, che abbiamo inserito interamente in un intricato universo fatto di rimandi, accenni, sequel e prequel delle vicende di un nutrito gruppo di investigatori.

Il diorama di cui vedete le foto di seguito, frutto di un lavoro portato avanti nei miei sempre più rari momenti di tempo libero, è insieme una celebrazione dell’epica fase finale di questa campagna e un ringraziamento ai miei giocatori, i quali hanno saputo dare vita a personaggi memorabili che, volenti o nolenti, hanno dovuto affrontare la minaccia dei Miti di Cthulhu lovecraftiani durante le loro esistenze travagliate e spesso tragicamente brevi. Dalla villa di Corbit della nostra prima partita a Cthulhu sono passati 22 anni. Appuntamento ai prossimi 22!

  

If you know “Call of Cthulhu”, published by Chaosium Inc. since 1981, you can’t ignore the existence of “Masks of Nyarlathotep”, one of the most intense and epic campaign ever written for an RPG. My group of friends and I started this series of adventures in a bygone era, after two other campaigns and many scenarios of different lenght, all setted in an intricate universe of references, allusions, sequel and prequel to the stories of a large group of investigators.
The diorama you can see in the pictures below is the result of a work carried out in my increasingly rare moments of free time and is meant to be both a celebration of the epic final phase of this campaign and a huge “thank you” to my players, who were able to give life to memorable characters who had to deal with the threat of Lovecraftian Cthulhu Mythos during their troubled and often tragically short lives. It’s been 22 years from the Corbit mansion of our first Cthulhu session. Don’t miss the appointment to the next 22!
